As of Monday, 81 people were hospitalized in New Mexico with COVID-19.

An additional 259 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed by the Department of Health as of midnight on Tuesday. It's the third day of new cases under 200.

Gustafson says 74 per cent of adults in B.C. and 72 per cent of British Columbians aged 12 and up have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

There are 199 people in hospital with the disease, she said, including 63 in intensive care - 38 of whom require mechanical ventilators to breathe.

"It is very encouraging to see a steady increase in the number of people in our province who are protected with a COVID-19 vaccine". The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

Island Health identified the locations of 29 active cases Tuesday, including 17 in the South Island, eight in the Central Island and four in the North Island. In total, 3,685,340 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the province, 345,508 of which are second doses.
