Mass Shooting Reported at Wisconsin Oneida Nation Casino, Suspect in Custody

Two people were killed and another was seriously wounded Saturday night at a shooting at the Oneida Casino near Green Bay, Wisconsin, according to Lt. Kevin Pawlak of the Brown County Sheriff's Office. "It was targeting a specific victim who was not there, but he made a decision to still shoot some of the victims' friends or co-workers it appears", said Lt. Kevin Pawlak with the sheriff's office at a press conference. Sheriff's officials say the person the shooter targeted was not at the casino, but he then targeted people believed to be friends or acquaintances of the intended target.

Pawlak said police then shot the suspect outside the Radisson Hotel near the casino, killing him.

"I know for sure two, because it happened right next to us, literally right next to us", Yatim said.

Authorities stated that the suspect entered the building on the south side between the casino and restaurant before walking to the restaurant, and going directly to the waiter's station in the back of the restaurant. "There was an active shooter at our Hotel and Casino tonight".

"We got the hell out of there, thank God we're OK, but obviously we wish the best for everybody who's been shot", he said.

Gambler Max Westphal said he was standing outside after being evacuated for what he thought was a minor issue. "There is no longer a threat to the community".

Attorney General Josh Kaul tweeted shortly before 10 p.m. that the scene was "contained". 'We took off running towards the highway. It was honestly insane'.

Governor Tony Evers said he was "devastated" to hear about the shooting, but gave no details.

A spokesman for the Oneida tribe said they are shutting down all five casinos on their reservation. It will be updated as more information becomes available.

The Oneida Nation saying that the main casino is being secured by law enforcement following the shooting.
