At Monday's hearing, they were denied bond by Glazer, who noted the Greensboro, North Carolina-based suspects "couldn't even pick up the phone to call police or 911 after they did whatever it is they did to her".

Evoire Collier, 21, and Dorian Taylor, 24, were charged with sexual battery, burglary, petty theft and credit card fraud after a 24-year-old woman died after entering the Albion Hotel with the men.

Around half an hour later, the men were seen exiting the hotel without the woman.

Collier claimed that Taylor gave Englehardt the pill as they walked on Ocean Drive. Collier was apprehended on Ocean Drive, wearing the same trousers as seen in the hotel security recording.

Miami Beach police have made over 1,000 arrests since February and at least five officers have been hurt on the job, the Herald reported.

Both men are accused of having sex with the woman, then stealing her credit cards and cell phone before leaving her hotel room.

Miami Beach Detective Luis Alsina said lab work will be performed on the young victim. Police say they used the stolen cards to continue to party. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office said Monday it is conducting further tests, and no cause of death has been determined.

Collier told the police that he believed the drug was Percocet.

He allegedly confessed that he and his pal had met the woman at a local restaurant and that Taylor gave her a "green pill", the police report said. Collier and Taylor will face an arraignment in about three weeks. At the time of writing, authorities are trying to figure out if the woman overdosed on a pill given to her by the suspects.

Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer said one of the accused men admitted to giving the woman a green pill with "a30" on it, NBC News reported.

Miami Beach officials declared a state of emergency and implemented a curfew on March 20 in response to large crowds of spring break visitors. "And that shouldn't be the state of any mayor or any commissioner or any manager or any police chief".

Miami Beach police have arrested more than 1,000 people in the past month.
