As the storm pulls away later Sunday and Sunday night, winds from the northwest are expected to increase and may lead to more widespread blowing and drifting snow in Colorado.
By Sunday morning, the heavy rain will spread across much of the plains, while Denver and Cheyenne, Wyoming, will remain in heavy snow. In Cheyenne and throughout southeastern Wyoming, the National Weather Service forecast "difficult to impossible travel conditions" with "snow-packed roadways and whiteout conditions". At times near white-out conditions will be possible, and winds could gust as high as 35 miles per hour.
