Three samples of ice cream have tested positive for Covid-19 in China.

Authorities have issued a warning for any resident who may have bought the ice cream, asking them to report their health and their movements within the community.

Another weird incident has come up in front of people, wherein North China, ice cream has tested positive for the covid-19 virus, and thousands of people have been told to quarantine.

As China actually have a functioning test and trace system, people who are believed to have come into contact with the infected product, produced by Tianjin Daqiaodao Food Company, are being traced by authorities. Nearly 390 sold in Tianjin were being tracked down and authorities elsewhere were notified of sales to their areas, it said.

It also stated that the food company used raw materials to make the batches of ice cream and several products were imported from different countries including New Zealand, Ukraine, and others.

The officials revealed that they are tracking over 390 cartons sold in Tianjin.

The ice cream is made in China, using milk powder imported from New Zealand.

A health expert has said that there is no reason for concern and that it is likely that the infection came from a person. As many as 2,089 have now been sealed up and secured. "We probably don't need to panic that every ice cream is suddenly going to be contaminated with coronavirus", he added.

The development has prompted authorities to place the company's 1,662 employees under quarantine while they were also subjected to acidic testing as directed by the Tianjin center for disease control. "Firstly, they are all imported from abroad, caused by travelers from overseas, or contaminated cold-chain imported items".

To be noted, this is not the first time when China has claimed that coronavirus has been found in food samples.

"Coronaviruses, like the one that causes COVID-19, are thought to spread mostly person-to-person through respiratory droplets when someone coughs, sneezes, or talks", the CDC explained.
