Deadpool earned its fame though due to star/producer Ryan Reynolds' violent and profane R-rated antics as the Merc With the Mouth, all of which didn't align with Disney's family-friendly image, leading some fans to fear that either Deadpool was getting nerfed or he would be kept separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Finally, the big boss of the MCU, Kevin Feige has weighed in on the progress - and there's good news if you were anxious that the edges would be filed off for the usually PG-13 Marvel universe.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that the third instalment in the anti-superhero saga will be included in the MCU, with him saying that the foul-mouthed mercenary will be a "different type of character" for the studio.

'Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. Even the violence has been pretty subdued even though some rather violent things were actually happening in some films.

Feige also confirmed what ABC Audio had previously reported: Emmy Award-winning sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux - who have written for the animated comedy Bob's Burgers since 2012 - are also working on the script.

Marvel is still careful not to give too much away, of course, but we do get a few brief glimpses of superhero action towards the end, along with a first look at the returning Kat Dennings as Thor's Darcy Lewis. As for Marvel's production timelines, Spider-Man 3, Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are now in post-production. Marvel Studios' captivating new series "WandaVision" stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Deadpool 3 is expected to film in 2022, at the earliest, reports Collider.
