Besides the screen itself, Mercedes said the vehicle will have an entertainment system with artificial intelligence to predict drivers' and passengers' needs and preferences. Eschewing physical buttons in favor of a completely digital and voice-controlled 56-inch touchscreen, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (or MBUX for short) Hyperscreen system has been created to not only be intuitive and user-friendly, but also to learn its users' needs and make custom suggestions that make their lives easier.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an advanced new screen-based dashboard design that is set to be offered in the forthcoming EQS luxury EV. It can auto-adjust brightness via a camera and light sensor and that it's powered by an eight-core CPU paired with 24GB of RAM. We'll have to judge when the company reveals its EQS sedan sometime this year. The front-seat passenger has their own section of the screen, called the co-driver display, to play around with during a trip.

The company said that the MBUX Hyperscreen's lowest layer contains the ambient lighting, which makes the display appear to float relative to the instrument panel. The massive screen features no physical buttons, which could turn off some customers, though Mercedes could put them elsewhere. The company said the AI software powering the display is capable of learning the driver and passenger's preferences and then adapting its suggestions for infotainment, comfort, electric drive settings, and other vehicle functions.

Comparatively, if the driver often calls one person via phone during homeward transit, the system will suggest their call at the normalized time.

Apps, vehicle functions, climate control, navigation, and entertainment have all been consolidated inside the screen, said Sajjad Khan, chief technology officer for the automaker, during today's announcement. It's made up of a single plastic frame and a large glass cover with OLED displays for the center and front passenger. The system can store several driver and passenger profiles and remember things like where you often use the suspension lift feature, which it can learn and remember for the future. "We love simplicity, we have reached a new level of MBUX".

"The MBUX Hyperscreen is both the brain and nervous system of the auto", Khan, said in a statement. "The MBUX Hyperscreen continually gets to know the customer better and delivers a tailored, personalised infotainment and operating offering before the occupant even has to click or scroll anywhere", he added.
