An explosion rocked a Greek-operated oil tanker docked at Saudi Arabia's port of Shuqaiq on Wednesday, Greek officials said, in an attack that a Riyadh-led military coalition blamed on Yemeni rebels. Crew are safe, no pollution has been reported, and the ship itself is stable, according to the statement, which was distributed by MTI Network for TMS Tankers Ltd.

An oil tanker came under attack while at a Saudi Arabian terminal in the Red Sea about 125 miles north of the country's border with Yemen.

Ambrey, a British security firm, reported the blast and attributed it to a mine. It said the Agrari had cargo from Rotterdam, Netherlands, that it had discharged at the Shuqaiq Steam Power Plant.

The incident wasn't at a crude oil export facility and will nearly certainly have zero effect on Saudi Arabia's capacity to produce or export oil.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility from the Houthis regarding the latest incident.

Saudi state television later aired a report claiming a military coalition led by the kingdom destroyed a bomb-laden Houthi drone boat and that a merchant ship sustained light damage.

The Houthis have repeatedly carried out attacks against Saudi Arabia across the border.

Houthi officials didn't acknowledge involvement, or offer an account of what might have happened to the Agrari.

The Agrari is an aframax crude oil tanker, data on TMS Tankers website showed.

The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Wednesday that it had foiled a terrorist attack targeting a commercial vessel in the southern Red Sea.

On Monday, a cruise missile fired by Houthi rebels struck an oil facility in Saudi Arabia's Red Sea city of Jeddah. A United Nations panel in 2018 found the Houthis used both improvised and what appear to be Iranian-manufactured "bottom" mines, explosives that could be live in the water for as a long as a decade.

War-risk premiums to insure vessels going into the Red Sea - a major conduit for oil shipments - are expected to rise in the near-term as a result of recent attacks, but trade flows are unlikely to be affected, said Rahul Kapoor, global head of maritime analytics and research at IHS Markit.
