He also said that Indian suicide jackets and ammunition was used in PSX attack while RAW also planned target killing of high profile targets in Pakistan.

"Sad to see mounting casualties on both sides of LoC", Mufti tweeted. "Details of financial and material support and Indian state's direct involvement in terrorism have been given to the world which, in the face of this evidence, can not remain indifferent or silent", PM Imran said in a statement on Twitter.

The army spokesperson said Indian intelligence agencies are managing 87 terrorist camps - 66 out of which are located in Afghanistan and 21 in India.

The other injured have been identified as Sajad Khan (62) son of Mohammad Aslam khan of Balkote Uri, Saif-u-d-din Qureshi (63) son of Fiqur Ullah Qureshi of Kamalkote Uri, Hakim Bee (50) wife of Abdul Hamid of Gohallan Uri and Sarfraz Ahmad (18) son of Lateef Ahmad of Gohallan and Uri shifted to SDH Uri. "A befitting response is being given", the Army said.

Mukhtar Ahmad, a resident of Uri in Indian Kashmir said there was panic in the hillside town after loud explosions were heard from areas closer to the de facto border. Sources told The Indian Express that at least "six to eight" Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory fire. "It's highly deplorable that Pakistan chose a festive occasion in India to disrupt peace & perpetrate violence in J&K through coordinated firing along the length of the LoC", the MEA said.

The Indian Army said "substantial damage" was inflicted on the "Pakistan army's infrastructure and causalities".

This was accompanied by the initiation of an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan along the LoC in Keran Sector by firing mortars and other weapons. When this report was filed, there was no report about any casualty on either side.

"Several families have fled the area and taken shelter in Uri town", he said. Three persons were reported injured in Tanghdar sector. The BSF identified the dead sub-inspector as Rakesh Doval and said a constable was injured.

In recent years, India has likewise accused Pakistan of sponsoring militant groups that have carried out attacks inside its borders in recent years, including the group behind the deadly 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, which killed 166 people.

In a major flare up at the LoC in North Kashmir, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in multiple sectors along the LoC in which three civilians were killed, two army soldiers and one BSF officer also died in action, official sources said.

The heavily militarised LoC has been witnessing frequent civilian losses due to India's violation of a 17-year-old ceasefire agreement between the two armies. Pakistan on Friday indulged in heavy cross-border shelling along the LoC in which five security forces personnel and six civilians lost their lives.

Friday's indiscriminate shelling had pushed the civilian death toll in the current year to 28, including 13 women while another 233 civilians, including 87 women, have sustained injuries, Mr Qadri said.
