Chennai Super Kings off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has pulled out of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League which will be played in the United Arab Emirates.
Harbhajan Singh was set to join the CSK camp later as he had stayed back in India while other players had taken off for the UAE. "Team Chennai Super Kings is supportive of his decision and stands by him and his family during these testing times", CSK tweeted CEO KS Viswanathan's statement. Today, the Yellow Army again got shaken with a third massive blow as the veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has made a decision to not be a part of the 13th edition of the cash-rich league due to personal reasons.
The 40-year-old, who has been a part of CSK during the past two seasons is now in Jalandhar, Punjab with his family and requested privacy.
Harbhajan, who has claimed 150 wickets in 160 IPL appearances, was part of the Mumbai Indians squad for 10 years before joining Chennai in 2018. @ChennaiIPL CSK management has been extremely supportive and I wish them a great IPL.
Earlier, all-rounder Suresh Raina, who too turns up for CSK, had opted out also citing personal reasons.
"Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season". "All others, apart from the 13, tested negative for the third time".
"Harbhajan Singh informed us he won't be available due to personal reasons". But two Chennai players - Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad - and 11 officials and support staff have tested positive for coronavirus and this has delayed the start of Chennai's training. He will not at all be a bad replacement for Harbhajan and CSK can surely look to rope him in ahead of the much anticipated IPL 2020 season.
