"Far from being a conspiracy theory or a "joke" as James reportedly told the media, in large part this scrutiny is a reasonable and even predictable result of James' aggressive use of the sealing procedure over the years to minimise the amount of meaningful information made available to the public".

Through her legal counsel, the star said she was "strongly opposed" to her father being re-installed as a personal conservator, in which he oversaw her mental health care, among other things, after he briefly stepped down due to health reasons in 2019.

Spears is in the middle of fighting to get her father removed from her conservatorship which has been in place since 2008. Spears' conservatorship has sparked a #freebritney campaign on the internet with fans demanding that her father is released from her conservatorship and Spears is finally granted some freedom.

Spears filed an objection unprecedented in the 12 years of the conservatorship to a motion from her father, James Spears, to seal a recent filing in the case, forcefully arguing that the public ought to know what is happening to her and tacitly voicing her support for the #FreeBritney movement among fans that her father has shown scorn for.

Obviously we don't know what's going on behind closed doors with the Spears family dynamic, but it certainly seems like the women are aligning against Jamie.

According to a report by E!News, the petition filed by her attorney Samuel Ingham claimed, "This is a voluntary conservatorship" the "conservatee wishes to exercise her right to nominate a conservator of the estate under Probate Code section 1810".

Among those changes was a "desire not to perform at this time", and the removal of her father as her custodian. "Whatever merits his strategy might have had years ago when Britney was trying to restart her career, at this point in her life when she is trying to regain some measure of personal autonomy, Britney welcomes and appreciates the informed support of her many fans". "Without in any way waiving her right to seek termination of this conservatorship in the future, Britney would like Ms. Montgomery's appointment as conservator of her person to be made permanent".

The legal action is sure to rile up the #FreeBritney troupe, who recently protested against the conservatorship outside a Los Angeles courthouse. Ingham also revealed in court documents that fans calls to #FreeBritney are far from a "joke", as her father has suggested in the past. Us adds that Ingham's document also notes that "there are no medical issues at all in a conservatorship of the estate, nor are her children [Preston, 14, and Jayden, 13] involved in any way". As the filing reads: "Britney ... strongly prefers to have a qualified corporate fiduciary appointed to serve in this role".
