Johnny Depp has requested the court to delay his United States dollars 50 million defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard as the dates clash with Fantastic Beasts 3 filming.
Depp argues through his lawyers that the Covid-19 pandemic caused delays in production over which he has no control. We all thought that Depp was hitting her but it turns out Heard wasn't completely innocent either as she also hit the actor.
The actor filed the $50m defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard in March 2019, after she wrote an opinion piece she wrote in The Washington Post about domestic abuse.
Amber's outing came after it was claimed that her ex husband Johnny Depp has filed a new court case against her. "With conditions in London having improved somewhat, Warner Bros. has now set a shooting schedule that conflicts with the trial date in this case", added the papers.
A hearing on Depp's request for postponement is set for September 11. The current trial period starts from 11 January, 2021, to go on through 28 January, 2021.
In the United States proceedings, the "Willy Wonka" star is suing Amber Heard for $50 million over a 2018 article she wrote in the Washington Post describing herself as a survivor of domestic abuse.
Depp and Heard met while making The Rum Diary and were married for 15 months before their split in 2016.
The subsequent installment within the Fantastic Beasts franchise is pivotal to the continued viability of the Harry Potter spinoff collection, with 5 feature-length movies initially being introduced, which all the time appeared like a cynical cash-driven transfer when the supply materials was a slim fictional textbook that was initially written to boost cash for charity.
He also asks the trial to be postponed until sometime between on March and June 2021.
His complaint against Heard refers to "the op-ed's clear implication that Mr Depp is a domestic abuser" as "categorically and demonstrably false".
The blonde beauty's claim was that troll accounts regularly tweeted messages such as "I love you, Waldman", which only "shows the origin of Mr. Depp's unlawful campaign".
