Chelsea have completed their second signing in two days after announcing the arrival of highly-rated defender Malang Sarr on a free transfer.

Chelsea on Thursday announced the signing of Malang Sarr.

Sarr, 21, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge though could be set to head to Bayer Leverkusen, in a loan switch will would look to help secure the signature of Kai Havertz for the Blues.

Sarr will play no part in the upcoming campaign, however, after it was revealed that he would spend the season out on loan, although there has been no confirmation as to his destination at this stage.

The 21-year-old centre-back is seen as one for the future by Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and will be sent on loan this coming season to build his experience.

Sarr shows up with lots of experience in France, playing over 100 times for Nice and making the club's young gamer of the year award.

Sarr scored three goals in 119 appearances for Nice.

"We are very happy to welcome him to the club today", Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said in a statement released on the official website.
