Redmi Note 7 getting Android 10-based MIUI update in India

The upcoming phone will join Xiaomi's Redmi Note 9 Pro Max which is available in India for a starting price of ₹16,999.

Redmi Note 8 Pro received MIUI 12 Global Update [MI], Other regions ROM (EU, India) will also get it soon [No ETA]. The price of the 6GB RAM + 128GB version has not been increased, so that still sells for INR 14,499 (~$193).

Other regional variants of the Redmi Note 8 Pro (India, Europe, Indonesia and Russia) haven't received their firmware for MIUI 12 yet.

Launched in India in October 2019, the base variant of Redmi Note 8 then cost Rs. 9,999.

The smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ IPLS LCD panel with a teardrop notch on the front and a minuscule chin at the bottom. In June, the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant increased to Rs. 11,999. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It is powered by the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor accompanied by Adreno 618 GPU, up to 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage. There is also a 13-megapixel selfie digital camera sensor, with an f/2. lens. Users can further expand the storage up to 512GB by adding a microSD card. To the rear is a quad-camera setup, featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 lens, 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 lens, a 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone is backed by a 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The dual SIM smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie operating system topped with the company's own MIUI 10.
