More than half of the Covid D-19 cases in the County are in people between 20 and 49 years old.

There were 39 new cases of COVID-19 in Marshall County, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health's COVID-19 website. This leaves 277 total active confirmed cases.

A total of 177,929 tests have been administered for COVID-19.

Only slightly more men than women have been infected with 50 percent of the cases being male and 49 percent, female.

Infections are also increasingly being identified in younger people, with 41% of cases now among those ages 18 to 40, according to the Department of Public Health.

Of the new cases, two of the people are in their 50s, one is in their 40s, one is in their 30s and one is a child under 10.

Last week ended with 24,861 confirmed cases and this week comes to a close with 27,096 cases.

The single-day high for the county follows three straight days of record highs that ended Friday with 440 new cases.

Overall Iowa's cases have increased by 9 percent as the state has nearly completely opened back up.

A total of 1,717 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in county hospitals Sunday, compared with daily hospitalizations that had ranged from 1,350 to 1,450 in recent weeks. Another three Hoosiers have died, bringing the total up to 2,427 or 2,619 if probable COVID-19 deaths with no positive test are included.
