Couple draws guns at crowd heading to St. Louis mayor's home

Democrat St. Louis mayor doxxes defund the police advocates, ACLU calls for her resignation Attorneys with Guns Stepped Out of Mansion to Stare Down People Protesting Against St. Louis Mayor

She and her two young children were in the auto in front of their home in 1995 when her husband, Jeff, was slain during a random carjacking attempt.

Around 6 p.m. Sunday, a barefoot man in a pink collared shirt walked out from the five-story house, carrying a semiautomatic rifle as he appeared to threaten the group.

In the video, the unidentified couple shouted at protestors, while people in the march moved the crowd forward, urging participants to ignore them. "To alleviate community relations we demand that Mayor Krewson resign from office and a special election be held to replace her".

The protesters are shown standing on the sidewalk and the street. That's when the married couple comes out of their home holding guns.

Many critics described the couple as "Ken and Karen", playing on the viral "Karen" nickname for white women who bring their trivial complaints to authority figures. "The people wasn't [sic] on any property but this law firm couple made a decision to come and point guns at us!" They were identified online as local attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who specialize in personal injury cases. The rifle-toting man wore beige khakis, a pink golf shirt and glasses, while the woman brandishing the pistol sported black yoga trousers and a striped black-and-white shirt.

Per CBS News and others, the calls for Mayor Krewson's resignation come following a Facebook Live briefing during which she read the names and addresses of numerous residents who had written letters to her suggesting she defund the police department.

Police said the couple had heard a loud commotion in the street and saw a large group of people break an iron gate marked with "No Trespassing" and "Private Street" signs. To be clear, it is shocking and misguided for Mayor Lyda Krewson of St. Louis, to broadcast the addresses of those who dare to express a different viewpoint of an issue of public concern.

Activists were marching toward Krewson's house because she doxxed Black Lives Matter protesters on Friday during a Facebook Live event.

Krewson, a white long-time alderwoman, was elected as St. Louis' first female mayor in April 2017 by pledging to work to reduce crime and improve impoverished neighbourhoods.

The protesters were calling for her resignation.

"As a leader, you don't do stuff like that ... it's only right that we visit her at her home", said state Rep. Rasheen Aldridge, D-St. Louis, speaking into a megaphone at the protest Sunday.
