Prince William has opened up about the "trauma" of losing his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, in a new documentary about mental health.

"Essentially Princess Charlotte would have to go back to school under the government guidelines on Monday, but the Cambridges are considering keeping the children together and I think a lot of parents who have been homeschooling over the last few weeks will have this conundrum to solve themselves".

William explained that he now realizes how it helped because, "you don't feel the whole weight of the room is watching you".

"George gets very upset because he wants to do Charlotte's projects".

The Duke's comments were recorded during filming for a documentary being shown on the BBC on Thursday evening that looks at the mental health of men through the prism of football.

William, 37, appeared to be wearing a handmade bracelet on his right wrist, which one fan noticed was the same colour as one made for him when he and his wife Kate were on tour in Pakistan. He shares in the film that "suicide is the biggest killers of young men under 45", but he and Head's Up initially struggled to think of how to connect with this group. "They were royal princes but had children's palates", McGrady explained.

The royal revealed this while speaking with football player Marvin Sordell, who struggled with depression after growing up without his father.

"There's so many vulnerable women here but they've really used their positivity and the support that the Village here provides them, really to support and protect the next generation of children in their care and give them the best possible start to their future lives".

"When you've been through something traumatic, like your dad not being around, my mother dying when I was younger, your emotions come back in leaps and bounds".

"Because it's a very different phase of life and there's no one around to help you".

He said that calling NHS workers fighting Covid-19 "heroes" risked placing a burden on their shoulders and causing them not to ask for mental health support. "I definitely found it very, at times, overwhelming".

The duchess continued: "Honestly, you arrive at the end of the day and write the list of all the things that you have done that day". Should I have done more?
