"Starting today, our Exposure Notifications technology is available to public health agencies on both iOS and Android".

The most notable change applies to newer iOS devices that use Face ID as their unlocking mechanism. You can download them over the air via the Settings app.

Another major feature that has been introduced in the new update is the inclusion of Apple and Google's new API for exposure notification. To ensure user privacy, Apple and Google state that temporary exposure keys are generated randomly instead of being derived from a tracing key. Tap the box that says COVID-19 Exposure Logging with the word "Off" underneath it. Most likely, there's some mess going on with Apple servers that are preventing iOS from verifying that you've already purchased an app. Our technology is created to make these apps work better. The exposure notifications, for the uninitiated, are alerts that users will receive on their phones if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for or is highly likely to test positive for Covid-19. This is due to the large number of people that are regularly wearing face protection during the coronavirus pandemic.

Other areas that the iOS 13.5 update is improving include minor fixes to FaceTime group video calls where the current speaker's video tile will now be responsively highlighted, a black screen issue in some video streaming apps (names of apps unspecified) and a bug in the slide-out menu that appears when you try to share a file from your iPhone. A new Automatic Prominence option in the Settings app, however, disables the feature, so all‌ participants are shown in the grid.

There's a new toggle in the Health app for showing Medical ID info on the Lock screen when an ‌iPhone‌ is locked, and you can now share Medical ID information automatically with emergency dispatchers when placing an emergency call.

This update also includes bug fixes and other improvements. For full details, check out their release notes here.
