With the global health crisis hitting just about every industry, Disney is looking to adjust its Marvel Studios releases to fit a timeline that suits the recovery needed.

Disney has made sweeping changes to its upcoming slate of movies, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that has kept people quarantined and cinemas closed.

But to make space in its release calendar, Disney has punted other films to even later dates, resulting in cascading delays that's pushed some blockbuster Marvel superhero film sequels to 2022, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

These new dates will also give all the Marvel movies more time to finish filming and production. The movie will now be released in theaters November 6, which was the original release date for Angelina Jolie's The Eternals. Black Widow is moving down to November 6, where Eternals used to be. Mulan, which had its Los Angeles premiere in March, is now dated for July 24.

The domino effect continues as Shangh-Chi moves to Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness slot of May 7th 2021. That date was saved for Thor: Love and Thunder, which is nowcoming out February 18, 2022. Disney and Marvel have also chose to move the release of Captain Marvel 2 up two weeks to July 8, 2022.

However, Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy, which was intended for a release on July 3, has been pushed back to December 11, 2020. Artemis Fowl, on the other hand, is now directly debuting on Disney+, with the film adaptation of the same-named, Eoin Colfer-penned fantasy novel having its May 29 theatrical release tossed aside. The release of the fifth "Indiana Jones" movie, which Steven Spielberg last month departed as director with James Mangold replacing him, is also being delayed a full year, to July 2022. Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch has moved from July 14 to October 16.
