A British coronavirus "super spreader" who may have infected almost a dozen other people has been released from the hospital after recovering from the deadly illness, according to reports.

"Contact tracing of the first four cases has been undertaken rapidly and is now complete while tracing for the latest four cases is ongoing", health minister Matt Hancock told parliament.

The UK has so far recorded eight cases.

He said there are a number of "countries of concern" and that people returning from travelling overseas could bring in further cases. The research was done after studying around 138 people diagnosed with Coronavirus in Wuhan.

A so-called "super-spreader" at the centre of a United Kingdom outbreak of coronavirus has been discharged and is no longer contagious, the NHS has said.

Steve Walsh, 53, was discharged Wednesday from a London hospital after he was quarantined for the deadly virus, which he became infected with during his travels to Singapore, the Sun reported.

In a statement on his release from hospital, Mr Walsh said: "I want to give a big thank you to the NHS who have been great throughout and my thoughts are with everyone around the world who continues to be affected by the virus".

He also went to the Grenadier Pub near his house and five employees there have been instructed to isolate themselves as a precaution and contact the authorities if they develop any symptoms of coronavirus.

He is believed to have infected at least 11 other Britons - five in a ski chalet in the French Alps and another five who have since returned to his home city of Brighton on England's southeast coast.

Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said that from an economic perspective, the virus has overtaken SARS.
