Amazon to give financial aid to employees' start-ups

Amazon employees interested in setting up their own package delivery businesses may receive up to $10,000 from the e-commerce giant Amazon to give financial aid to employees' start-ups

Amazon doesn't just want the former employee to drive a van, the company envisions each delivery partner growing to run multiple vans and employing lots of drivers.

The scheme will offer employees training and "consistent package delivery volume" from Amazon.

According to the company, ever since it started the delivery service, there have been more than 200 independent contractors who signed up to handle the deliveries.

Amazon created the Delivery Service Partner program previous year, and it has reportedly resulted in the creation of more than 200 small businesses since its inception. As a way of enticing such expansions, Amazon claims a delivery service running 40 vans is capable of earning $300,000 in profit every year.

Amazon said it expected dozens of United Kingdom employees to become delivery drivers, which it said in turn would create further work across the UK.

We want to hear from you. "Now we have a path for those associated with an appetite for opportunities to own their own businesses". Private companies are thus able to compete with the U.S. Postal Service in this space.

As part of the extended program, which the company hopes will speed up delivery times, Amazon employees will leave their jobs to start their businesses.

The company, based in Seattle, Washington, did not say how many employees it expects to take them up on the offer.

The offer is open to most part-time and full-time Amazon employees, including those working in warehouses and other places where products are stored.

John Felton is Amazon's vice president of global delivery services. However, the company does not guarantee results of any kind, including that a delivery company's earnings will exceed the owner's investment in the business.

Amazon also has its own airplanes handling freight and has been testing drones and delivery robots.

Collier says his business is already preparing for the one-day shipping goal by looking for more workers. Since 2011, Amazon has invested tens of billions to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) succeed, and SMBs have created 1.6 million jobs worldwide to support their sales in Amazon's stores.
