Independence Community College head coach Jason Brown announced his resignation in a post on twitter. In the first page he announced the decision along with a list of his accomplishments at ICC.

"Given what has most recently been allowed to transpire, it is clear, that it will be almost impossible to stay here", Brown wrote. He blamed the Montgomery County Chronicle for diminishing his ability to do his job successfully.

His resignation comes in light of a text message that leaked to a German player in which Brown tells him "I'm your new Hitler".

Brown said he took pride in working with Independence staffers to "achieve greatness" at the college, but cited "naysayers on campus" as an insurmountable hurdle in the aftermath of the published text messages.

"As a college, we should be defined by the outstanding educational quality and value we create for our students, and we believe we can move past this together with our community, faculty, staff and student body. The college is investigating the matter and will have no further statement at this time". Brown had informed Alexiou he had 17 disciplinary points.

College trustees, meanwhile, took no immediate action regarding Brown's status following a three-hour, closed-door meeting late Thursday, according to the Montgomery County Chronicle. "I know I did some stupid things to get suspended, but there are a lot of other incidents on the team that do not get reported".

Brown was hired as ICC's head coach in 2016, tasked with turning around a program with a recent history of losing.

Netflix's Last Chance U is one of the streaming service's most original series, following a junior college football team.

Independence slipped to 2-8 in 2018, which will be featured on Season 4 of Last Chance U when it is released this summer. After all, he was the only white kid in his Compton, California neighborhood at a time when gang violence and racial tensions split the state like a stake through the heart.
