An inquest heard Thursday that the Irish singer, 46, was still dressed in her pyjamas when she was found dead at the Park Lane Hilton, London, on January 15. It seems that she dies due to drowning due to alcohol intoxication, according to the coroner.

O'Riordan was due to attend a recording session to lend her iconic vocals to the band's cover of Cranberries track Zombie on the day of her passing.

Expert witnesses also said she had no injuries or evidence of self harm after she was found submerged in the bath in her room, and had "drunk an excessive amount of alcohol".

Dolores O'Riordan, the singer of the Cranberries' coffin lies in a hearse after her funeral at St Ailbe's Church in Ballybricken, Ireland, Jan 23, 2018.

Today would have been Dolores' 47th birthday.

There were many questions surrounding Dolores O'Riordan's death on January 15.

The Cranberries, pictured in 1996, have issued a statement about O'Riordan.

She was suffering a mental breakdown, and she was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Known for their chart-topping hits, "Zombie", "Linger", and "Dreams", Dolores O'Riordan lead the Irish rock band to worldwide fame in the early 90s, cementing their status as an award-winning band.

"Dolores will live on eternally in her music".

Our continued thoughts are with Dolores' loved ones.

"We'd like to say thank you to all our fans for the outpouring of message and their continued support during this very hard time".

The singer struggled at times with fame after the spectacular success of The Cranberries' 1993 debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?, cutting short a tour in 1996 citing exhaustion and disillusionment.

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar was among the first to pay tributes, calling O'Riordan "the voice of a generation".

But they canceled many dates on their 2017 Europe and North America tour, with the band citing O'Riordan's ongoing back problems as the cause.
