
Nintendo announced its NES Classic Edition will return to stores on June 29, signaling the first time the device will be available since the company halted production early past year.
Just like the SNES Classic edition that also launched last year, many fans of classic Nintendo games simply could not find an NES Classic edition unit in stores when the console quickly sold out right after the company stopped producing more units on April of last year.
Nintendo is bringing back the NES Classic Edition on June 29, giving players another chance at buying the massively popular retro console.
The NES Classic Edition is a miniature video game console that contains 30 retro video games from the original Nintendo Entertainment System, which launched in North America in 1985.
Both mini consoles were originally released in such small numbers that hungry consumers crashed websites trying to get their hands on one.

The NES Classic Edition was sold out immediately when it was first released in November 2016, sparking a lucrative tug-of-war between supply and demand that pushed the NES Classic Edition resale price to over $500. The new device came with 21 games that originated on the SNES, including "Super Mario World", "Super Mario Kart" and "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past". All these and more will be available with the return of the NES Classic to store shelves on June 29.
Both gaming systems were a hit when they were first released.
