"The meeting has been full of of insults, chest thumping and ultimatums that really do not lead to real unity of objective".

Political leaders and elders from the Kamba community are converging at the Komarock Primary school in Machakos County in a meeting largely seen as one that would determine Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's political future.

"There was no discussion on development or the economic welfare of 4 million Kambas in this country".

The event, dubbed "2018 Kamba Unity Declaration Accord" was attended by Governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Senator Mutula Kilonzo, ex-Senator Johston Muthama among others.

He further dismissed the meeting as one which was aimed at helping the Wiper party leader's cause, rather than solidifying the Kamba community.

Kalonzo had urged the Luhya leaders to remain in NASA to make it more formidable for the 2022 presidential contest.

Both Kalonzo and Mutua have expressed interest in the presidency, albeit via through different political vehicles.

Kalonzo, according to reports by the Daily Nation, Capital FM and Citizen TV, held a meeting in Machakos with leaders from all the three Ukamabi counties in a bid to strategise for the 2022 race. "Let us, as leaders, agree to respect each other and to work together, not for our personal benefit but for our people", Mutua said.

"As we await for such a meeting, Maendeleo Chap Chap leaders will be touring Kenya popularizing our presidential bid. We want to bring roads, water, employment, health and create appointments for our people", Mutua said.

The Governor said it was a tragedy that African leaders cling to power until they are forced out.

"There are those who oppose and fear change but there is nothing they can do because the wind of change has started blowing and it cannot be stopped".
