Performer dies in fall at Cirque du Soleil Volta show in Tampa

"One of the aerial straps artists of VOLTA by Cirque du Soleil fell during his performance on stage in Tampa".

"It is with vast sadness that Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group reports that a tragic accident occured last night, March, 17, during a performance of its show VOLTA, in Tampa, Florida", the statement read.

Afterwards, Cirque du Soleil released a statement about the accident, noting that crew members rushed to Arnaud's aid and immediately transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead sometime later.

Arnaud's Instagram is filled with pictures of fellow Cirque du Soleil performers and his wife and young daughter.

Yann Arnaud, an aerialist who was performing during a March 17 production of VOLTA, died from his injuries in the hospital, the company said.

'We are offering our full and transparent collaboration to the authorities as they look into the circumstances of this accident'.
