Xiaomi cuts prices on Mi Accessories due to GST Implementation

Xiaomi has reduced the prices of its accessories, including powerbanks, chargers and cases, after the implementation of the Good and Services Tax (GST) in India. The new comes shortly after the company opened its third factory in the country that is dedicated to manufacture power banks.

Commenting on the announcement, Xiaomi India VP and Managing Director Manu Jain tweeted highlighting the fact that Xiaomi is one of the most transparent companies in the world and any monetary benefits reaped from the supply chain efficiency, cost or tax cuts are being passed directly to the Mi fans. The 20,000 mAh Mi Power bank was originally priced at ₹2,199, now the same model is available for just ₹1,999 making a flat ₹200 rupees price cut.

Some of the accessories available at reduced rates on mi.com include the 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 (Black) which was originally priced at Rs 1,199 but post the price cut costs Rs 1,099. At the same time, the price of Mi Business Backpack was Rs 1,499, now it can be bought for Rs 1,299. The price point which is tipped for the device is anywhere around 1,499 Yuan (approx Rs 14,600) which means this will be yet again an affordable smartphone.

Mi's 5v / 2A charger can now be purchased at Rs 349, before its price was Rs 399.

It is worth mentioning that the new prices are available only on mi.com/in at the moment and partner e-commerce sites Flipkart and Amazon are yet to update the pricing. Even the Mi Car Charger is getting cheaper. The Mi USB Fan which was earlier priced at Rs 249, is now available for Rs 229.

There are certain offers on the cases and the screen protectors as well. Let's take a detailed look at the revised prices of the Mi accessories. All the Mi accessories with GST rate cuts are available on Mi store for now. It will come in two variants: 20,000mAh and 10,000mAh. The company's Mi Power Band 2i will be "Made in India" at the company's newly setup plant in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
