She and palace officials have been talking over the complex issue of the "Sussex Royal" brand and have decided Harry and Meghan will no longer be able to use the word "royal" in the name, the Daily Mail reports.

Despite the 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex and 35-year-old Duke of Sussex recently launching a slick new Sussex Royal website to promote their work, it's thought they will have to now totally rebrand, without any mention of "royal" in their branding.

According to the outlet, the branding was meant to be used to trademark "a range of items and activities, including clothing, stationery, books and teaching materials".

"As part of the process to transition the Duke and Duchess of Sussex into their new chapter, planning has been well underway around the launch of their new non profit organisation".

However, before the transition officially occurs in spring, it's likely that Prince Harry and Meghan will return to the United Kingdom next month to attend their final engagements as senior members of the royal family.

A royal source said the future use of the term by Harry and Meghan "needed to be reviewed" and that discussions were ongoing. The Sussexes' original plan - of being half-in, half-out working royals - was never going to work.

The queen said she was "particularly proud" of how quickly Meghan had become one of the family.

"I don't think it's satisfactory". But, if these news reports are to be believed then Harry and Meghan will have to stay away from utilizing the title of Sussex Royal.

They are reported to have been asked to attend the Commonwealth Day Service in March and will have Princess Beatrice's wedding in May to add to their diaries too.

The news comes amid a flurry of changes that will take place for Markle and Harry after their decision to "step back" as senior members of the royal family.

Since then, it has been announced that the couple were closing their office at Buckingham Palace, leading to some of its 15 employees becoming redundant.

Harry and Meghan are living in Canada with their son Archie.
