Central Crime Branch Sleuths (CCB) on Thursday arrested two more batsmen in KPL spot-fixing scandal. "Further investigations are on and more arrests will be made", ESPN Cricinfo quoted Sandeep Patil, the Joint Commissioner of Police as saying.Gautam is a big name in Karnataka Cricket and he was a key player in the side that won back-to-back domestic competition laurels in 2013-14 and 2015-16. Gautam, captain of Bellary Tuskers, and his team-mate Kazi allegedly accepted Rs 20 lakh (approximately $28,000) for "slow batting" in the tournament final against Hubli Tigers, which the Tuskers lost by eight runs.

"They were paid Rs 20 lakh for slow batting, and for other things". The KSCA has also stated that any players, match officials or umpires who have been arrested in connection with the incident based on the first impression will be suspended with immediate effect. He had also featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL), being a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Abrar Kazi has played Ranji for Karnataka and Mizoram. Then they arrested Bangalore Blasters batsman Nishant Singh Shekhawat for the same crime.

Two more players were arrested on charges of betting and match-fixing.

CCB arrested the Bengaluru Blasters bowling coach Vinu Prasad and Ali Asfak Thara, the owner of the Belagavi Panthers, who were involved in fixing directly.

He was a regular in the Karnataka team and was deputy to Vinay Kumar, having also led the team in the latter's absence. Wicketkeeper-batsman Gautam has previously played for Karnataka senior team and ahead of this season, moved to Goa. Also, Kazi moved across to Nagaland a year ago and was a success as he scored three scores of more than150 scores as a middle-order batsman.

Match-fixing activities happening behind the scenes are a total disgrace to the gentleman's game. "In case they are found guilty, their franchise will be terminated", the Karnataka Cricket Association added in a statement.
