And Apple Music Bundle

Labels 'nervous' about Apple Music & TV+ subscription bundle plan - report Apple is reportedly considering bundling Apple TV+ and Apple Music
Hannah Rogers | 09 October, 2019, 14:05

The vast majority of the $10/month that Apple collects from Apple Music subscribers - over $7/month - goes right back to the record labels, so it's easy to see how a reduced-price bundle would impact these numbers.

One of Apple's competitors, Amazon, offers unlimited next day delivery, Prime Video movies and television shows, basic music streaming, unlimited photo storage, two free audiobooks a month, gaming loot through Twitch Prime, a free eBook every month, and much more for just $12.99 per month, but special offers regularly bring that down to less than $9.99.

Apparently the feeling isn't shared across the board, with the sources speaking with the FT claiming some major players in the industry are open to the idea.

Technology giant company, Apple has officially announced that new macOS updates users will not be compelled to use the its music subscription service, iTunes but instead will now enjoy three new apps in replacement.

A new report from Anna Nicolaou and Patrick McGee of the Financial Times says that Apple has entered into talks with the music industry to make a subscription bundle a reality, but record labels are concerned that they will lose revenue from the deal. At this point, neither side has come forward with a pricing formula.

Analysts suggested earlier that Apple will soon create a super bundle of sorts, targeting those who have subscribed to at least one of its services during the previous year.

What Apple seems to be working on with this new proposed bundle offers some interesting possibilities, such as an opportunity to include the company's subscription news service Apple News+. It's also possible that Apple may tie some of this in with other services or bundles, such as AppleCare+ or the iPhone Upgrade Program. It has the freedom to stream any content it already licensed on the platform that it owns - whether it offers the platform or app for a lower price or not.

None of their iTunes files will be deleted, they'll simply be reorganized in the new Apple Music app.
