As of September 6, over 450 possible cases of severe lung illness associated with e-cigarette use have been reported across 33 states and 1 USA territory.

Constantino said many people who vape have been "on pins and needles" for the investigation results, and she is concerned that the reports of a link to vaping THC may give people an excuse to ignore the warnings. While Vitamin E is known to be used as a supplement or skin care product without ill effects, state health officials say it could cause problems if inhaled. Lee Norman, secretary for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, wrote in a news release.

The public should "consider not using e-cigarette products" while investigations into the outbreak of a severe respiratory illness in e-cigarette users in the United States take place, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended.

Health officials in Collin and Denton counties don't now have a way to track lung related illnesses to vaping.

Officials said that although the patient had underlying health issues, vaping lead to a hospitalization during which the patient's condition deteriorated rapidly.

"Our sympathies go out to the family of the person who died", Kansas Governor Laura Kelly said in a statement. As of Monday, the Food and Drug Administration had discovered over 400 cases of lung disease linked to vaping nationwide.

"The Ohio Department of Health is working in conjunction with the CDC to investigate the source of the vaping pen, the source of the refills and other data on the lifestyle factors to determine if the patient illness is vaping-related or not".

Other reports suggest that there are 450 cases across 33 states and one U.S. territory, including 41 cases in the state of NY. "As that work continues, I urge Kansans to be careful".

The department urges people who have trouble breathing after using vaping products to seek medical attention immediately. "Don't put yourself in harm's way, and please follow the recommendations of public health officials".

Their illnesses were reported in Summit, Portage, Lucas, Richland, Jefferson, Hamilton and Union counties. Symptoms include coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, feve, and weight loss.

Fear of the unknown has stopped many of us from risking our lives before.

"You should not modify e-cigarette products or add any substances to these products that are not intended by the manufacturer", the agency also warned.
