Four children in Australia, ages 10 to 14, stole a family auto for a 600-mile road trip to so they could go fishing.

The group took fishing rods, cash and one of the children left a note to his family indicating he was leaving.

The four-wheel drive was spotted at a service station in Banana at 4.45am, when the group is alleged to have stolen fuel.

Four Queensland children aged 10 to 14 have been stopped outside Grafton in NSW in the Nissan Patrol 4WD they had driven from Rockhampton on a 1000km journey on Sunday.

When police attempted to detain the children, they reportedly locked the doors of the vehicle leaving officers to smash the windows of the stolen Nissan Patrol.

According to the outlet, the group traveled more than 560 miles from Gracemere to Grafton along the coast of Australia, before police were able to catch up to them later that day. "I suppose a couple of cans of Red Bull and you're likely to do anything", said Acting Insp.

Insp Williams mentioned the crew had perchance shared the using.

According to officials, the children suspected that they have not paid for fuel at filling stations in Outback Queensland and in Warialda in New South Wales.

The 14-year-old lived in Grafton, which might have been the children's destination, Mr Williams said. Three of the four children remained in custody and one has been picked up by his parents.

Police say it's believe the vehicle has since travelled across the border where it was sighted near Glen Innes early this afternoon.

He is now jailed on $309,500 bail on charges of attempted murder of a police officer, felony evading arrest and three counts of child endangerment.

"It's a pretty big journey, and it's a long way for a young person".

The newly released footage from La Vergne police in Tennessee shows Darrien Williams, 21, leading cops on a wild chase along a highway near Nashville involving several police departments.

The minimum age to apply for a driving license in Queensland is 17.
