The teaser concludes with a message that the game is in development, but a specific release date wasn't given.

Initially, the footage seemed like it may have been more DLC for the original game, but the reveal of it being a full sequel took us by surprise.

If you want more from the 2017 Game of the Year-winner, Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you're in luck. Are you already feeling the hype? It announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is in active development for the Nintendo Switch. The preview explicitly called it the sequel to Breath of the Wild. During Nintendo's Treehouse presentation today, following their Nintendo Direct segment from E3, the company left fans all over the world with a powerful teaser that promised a sequel. And it does seem as if this is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. Link's Awakening, one of the strangest and sweetest Zelda games, originally released on the Game Boy in 1993, has been reimagined in adorable toylike miniature, and will be out on 20 September.
