Kyle Busch in the #18 auto took the checkered flag on Sunday for the win in the 400.

The race left the Stewart-Haas cars still searching for the speed necessary to compete with the Joe Gibbs Racing contingent, and it left Bowyer wondering how to accumulate some stage points in the process.

Elliott restarted fifth on Lap 106 and improved one spot by the time the race ended 55 laps later.

Though Larson won the first two stages, he pounded the outside wall coming off turn one on the final restart and had to come to pit road for damage fix. Kevin Harvick was nipping at a win until a botched pit stop and a cracked steering box took him out of contention.

Busch has won two of the past three races at the track, while Martin Truex Jr. won the June race previous year.

As a result, for the first time in Cup Series history, 31 consecutive races have been contested without a polesitter winning. Joey Logano was second and pole sitter William Byron third. It's the second stage win of the season for Larson. The No. 14 team was blanked in both the first and second stages of the race.

William Byron will lead the field to green for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway on Sunday.

Austin Dillon was knocked out of the race after contact with Paul Menard sent his auto into the wall.

The first 100 laps were littered by cautions, with the yellow flag waving seven times, including the two cautions that marked the ends of the first two stages and the early-race competition caution that was scheduled because of overnight rain.

Kyle Busch joins Byron in the front row in the No. 18 Toyota.

Jones restarted next to Busch on Lap 152 but surrendered the second position to Brad Keselowski. Truex is looking to make it two straight weeks with a trip to Victory Lane after taking the checkered flag last week at Charlotte.
