Phoenix Suns Forward and former Kansas Jayhawks star, Josh Jackson, was arrested this weekend at Miami's Rolling Loud festival.

Authorities say Phoenix Suns forward Josh Jackson was arrested after refusing to leave a VIP area at a South Florida hip-hop festival this past weekend.

The No. 4 pick from the 2017 draft was told "multiple" times he couldn't enter the area without the proper pass but continued to try to enter anyway.

Jackson left the area, only to return and attempt to enter the VIP area again.

Ultimately backup officers located Jackson and arrested him. He was handcuffed by police and then ran away from the officers before being detained, the Arizona Republic reported, citing a police report.

Jackson, 22, faces charges of resisting arrest without violence and escape. His arraignment hearing is slated for June 10. When the officer told him to sit back down, Jackson took off running, the report said.

The Suns released a statement saying that they were, "aware of the report and in the process of gathering more information".

With the Suns, Jackson was fined $20,000 by the National Basketball Association team this past year after he skipped a team-sponsored autograph signing this season.

Jackson was given a $1,000 bond, according to court records. He averaged 11.5 points and 4.4 rebounds a game in 2018-19, but has started only 64 of 156 games for one of the league's worst teams over the last two years.
