Facebook to merge WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger

Facebook getting its messaging apps to be friends Facebook to integrate Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp into single system

Last week, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has expressed his desire to integrate three of the company's major platforms: Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram.

Some advocates for children who previously criticized Facebook's Messenger Kids - the messaging app designed for children 12 and younger - are reiterating calls for Facebook to end that service. Facebook confirmed it is working on making more of its messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier for users to connect across networks.

By this time next year, when you slide into someone's DMs on Instagram, the messaging system will be linked to WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger as well.

Alex Stamos, the former Facebook Chief Security Officer, who now teaches at Stanford University, said that he has high positive hopes from this move, and was just afraid of the previous idea of dropping the end-to-end encryption.

However, according to some sources, people need to understand that using all of them in already like using one single app.

The founders of Whatsapp and Instagram, which were able to operate after the Acquisition by Facebook, initially, largely independently, had left closed for the past year, the Online network. So Whatsapp is designed from the beginning to the recording of less user data and only requires the phone number of the smartphone.

The Facebook founder may knit together the technology behind communication tools including WhatsApp and Instagram. With this increased privacy issues, there is no requirement for real identity to use WhatsApp (unlike the main platform, i.e Facebook). Integrating the apps' technology goes a step toward achieving this.

"The Irish DPC will be very closely scrutinising Facebook's plans as they develop, particularly insofar as they involve the sharing and merging of personal data between different Facebook companies", the statement reads.

Advocacy groups critical of Facebook have asked United States regulators to unwind the purchases of Instagram and WhatsApp over what those groups say are violations of consumer-privacy rules.

Facebook is under nearly as much scrutiny as Huawei in recent months, after repeatedly breaching the understood limits of its service in the quest for cash. Facebook didn't splurge billions of dollars on Instagram, WhatsApp and its Oculus virtual-reality company to leave them alone forever.
