Morata to Atletico? I can't confirm or deny anything - Simeone

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has reportedly reached agreements with both Sevilla and Atletico Madrid as he nears a possible January exit from Stamford Bridge, although the club is seemingly insistent on sourcing a replacement before letting the Spaniard go.

Sevilla have been linked with a move for Morata, with the La Liga side's director of football Joaquin Caparros confirming their interest in signing him.

Morata is now widely expected to leave Chelsea this month and few of his teammates will miss him, with his "meek attitude" becoming a source of frustration among his teammates.

This season Alvaro Morata has played in 24 games for Chelsea in all competitions scoring just five nine goals.

Morata was signed by Chelsea to replace Diego Costa, who rejoined Atletico.

The Spaniard has again failed to become a certain starter at Chelsea this season and with Sarri wanting a new striker, it is clear Morata does not enjoy the confidence of the manager.

Speaking after yesterday's 1-1 Copa del Rey draw at Girona, he said: "The only thing I'm thinking about is the upcoming match against Levante".

'Some players want more minutes, some could be sold by the club, some could arrive. "We need to wait until January 31".

Goal reported on Wednesday that Simeone's side have joined the race to land the 26-year-old, with a potential loan deal being discussed in the coming days.

'The player may want to come here over other options, but it is very complicated.

Instead, Costa and Morata could be lining up alongside one another in Spain during the second half of the season, if reports are to be believed.
