According to Adrian Wojnarowski, NBA Insider for ESPN, the Sacramento Kings are in talks with the New York Knicks about a potential deal that would involve Enes Kanter and Zach Randolph. On the other end, the Knicks would be getting players with expiring contracts, which would no longer be a concern come the 2019-20 season. Randolph has yet to play.

NY and Sacramento discussing an Enes Kanter-Zach Randolph trade of expiring contracts, but nothing close yet, league sources tell ESPN.

"The Kings also have veterans like Kosta Koufos ($8.7MM) and Ben McLemore ($5.5MM) on expiring contracts and could look to make the most of those deals in trades in the coming weeks", Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors wrote. Kanter is on an expiring $18.6 million contract, while Randolph's is worth $11.6 million, northjersey.com noted. A third team could be helpful.

Kanter proved to be a deadly addition to the Thunder's bench, although he was surprisingly traded to the Knicks as part of the blockbuster 2017 deal that took Carmelo Anthony to Oklahoma City.

Randolph, 37, is at the twilight of his National Basketball Association career. The report noted a Western Conference team like the Clippers and the Kings would make sense.

The NBA trade deadline is February 7.

Randolph is still having a productive season even at age 37, as he is averaging 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in his first year with Sacramento. But if the Knicks can manage to sneak Courtney Lee or Tim Hardaway Jr. into a deal, this trade would become a home run.
