Global publication TheCut has now deleted the controversial article on Priyanka Chopra.

Along with the tweet, the "Quantico" actress shared a photograph in which she and her husband American singer Nick Jonas and her mother Madhu Chopra can be seen having moments of laughter with the PM.

The magazine's article called the Indian actress "global scam artist".

With more than two million mother-of-pearl sequins sewn into it and embroidery that took 1 826 hours to complete, the dress was exquisite but it was the 23-metre-long veil that made an even grander entrance than the bride herself.

All that remains on the story's page is an editor's note: "Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We've removed it and apologize".

Yesterday she and Nick Jonas hosted another wedding reception in Delhi at the Taj Palace Hotel.

USA singer Joe Jonas and his fiance, British actress Sophie Turner pose in the wedding reception. "Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls-t".

This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Sophie posted on her Twitter account. "Touched by your kind words and blessings", Priyanka wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Many celebrities and fans expressed their disgust for the controversial article.

The earlier version of the article read, "Priyanka: She is a modern-day scam artist, in my opinion".
