New Orleans Saints getting Dez Bryant is flat out unfair

A few members of the Cowboys addressed Dez Bryant's decision to sign with the New Orleans Saints (it will be official on Thursday) after the team's practice on Wednesday.

Bryant, 30, previously held a featured role with the Cowboys, but that won't be the case in New Orleans. The Saints also have free-agent signing Cameron Meredith, who's been unable to do much with the team, totaling just nine catches for 114 yards and one touchdown this season.

Last season was Bryant's best since he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 TDs in 2014, which at the time was his third consecutive season with at least 1,200 yards receiving.

Bryant's chance for revenge will come soon as the Saints will face the Cowboys in three weeks on FOX's Thursday Night Football on November 29.

What Bryant provides, however, is another weapon for Brees to consider in one of the NFL's top offenses. Many teams across the league would love to have those numbers. Is it Dez? Is it Tre'Quan?

Colin Cowherd explained Wednesday on FS1 why Bryant should send a thank you note to Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon upon signing with the Saints.

Over the course of his eight-year career, Bryant has appeared in 113 regular season games with 99 starts, posting 531 receptions for 7,459 yards (14.0 avg.) with 73 touchdowns. After all, as Cowherd notes, the NFL historically has been a "copycat" league.

"It's not like you just hand him a playbook and expect him to learn it overnight", Brees said.

By moving Bryant from the X-receiver position - the receiver who lines up on the line of scrimmage - the Saints will prevent teams from pressing him. "It's one of those things that's a process". Eighteen months ago, we saw "BBC Dad" become a viral sensation, as political science professor Robert Kelly discussed the ouster of the South Korean president when his two children wandered into his home office and into living rooms across Great Britain. Take the stuff that he's really good at, and then integrate him in the offense accordingly.
