Google will issue an update to fix Pixel 3 memory management issues

Last year's storm revolved the bluish tint of the Pixel 2 XL's (LG-made) OLED screen which Google sort of fixed by letting users adjust their color profiles on their own. Responding to the memory management issue that has been closing apps in the background for some users, Google says a fix is coming.

The November 1 patch contains partial security string which is intended more for Google's Android OEM partners, whereas, the November 5 patch contains full security string and is rolled out for Nexus and Pixel devices.

This issue is affecting phones quite sporadically, and the problems with the Pixel 3's RAM management can trigger the following process: apps can close unexpectedly in the background or sometimes they can even shut down right in the middle of usage.

Many Pixel & Nexus owners will get an updated version of Android this week.

For instance, the biggest hardware changes when it comes to the Pixel 3 's camera are the second wide-angle selfie camera on the front and a flicker sensor on the rear.

Combined with the excellent camera performance on the Pixel 3 flagship duo, the end result is that Google has a rather compelling incentive. While it appears as though this was intended as a battery-saving feature rather than a bug, Google will nonetheless be fixing the issue for some users.

Presumably these issues will be part of the same update that will fix the random extra-notch behavior and the camera's occasional inability to save a photo. Judging such an awesome phone just because it has a huge notch doesn't seem right when you look at some of the other unbelievable features that the phone offers. For most of 2018, the company added a slew of bug fixes in with these security updates.

Another area, where Google has tried to make do with software is the Super-Res Zoom feature that uses the extra data from your handshaking to create a zoomed image.
