Nintendo Switch Online launches on September 18th with 7-day free trial

Nintendo confirmed that the Nintendo Switch Online service would launch on September 18th in North America, with a United Kingdom launch happening the following day.

It will launch on September 18th in North America and September 19th in Europe.

The Nintendo Direct that was postponed last week will instead take place tomorrow, September 13, at 11pm BST, Nintendo said this morning.

We still aren't going to be getting a Virtual Console, though the company will be adding 20 NES games to the console, along with the option to play them in co-op.

That's literally all there is to know right now, with Nintendo confirming more details will be released tomorrow during the rescheduled Direct event. Family subscriptions are also available for $54.95, which supports up to eight accounts under the one Family Group. According to Nintendo, "it will no longer be possible to unlink your Nintendo Account from your Nintendo Switch user". 3, The Legend of Zelda and Mario Bros. - which will have online play for the first time, cloud saves (which won't work with every game because of cheaters) and various other special offers.
