The council met on Monday night (US time) to consider the resolution, the official language of which urged for the star's removal on the basis of the President's repeatedly proven attitudes towards women.

Earlier reports suggested that the chamber had refused to remove any stars from the famous tourist attraction, explaining that they represent the history of American cinema.

CBS Los Angeles reported the West Hollywood City Council cited several reasons for wanting to get rid of the star, including Trump's views on climate change, treatment of transgender people and the administration's family separation policy.

United States president Trump received his star, located on Hollywood Boulevard in 2007 for his accomplishments in the entertainment industry, namely as host of "The Apprentice". The mayor of West Hollywood made the announcement on Twitter stating that council has unanimously chose to remove it.

"The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark".

The Trump star has been vandalized numerous times since the former television personality/alleged billionaire decided to make America "meh" again, and was completely destroyed twice-the most recent patriotic act occurring last month-only to be replaced using taxpayer funds.

Hollywood division officers responded to a call at 3:33 a.m. (6:33 a.m. ET) to the tourist area. "I thought it was work going on over here". He was released on $20,000 bail. His star has also been defaced.

"People often stomp with anger on the star, others kick their heels over the star, and some spit".

Austin Mikel Clay, 24, is accused of using a pickaxe to smash the smash the memorial on Hollywood Boulevard.

Trump's marker was unveiled on the Walk of Fame in 2007.

If convicted as charged, Clay could face a possible maximum sentence of three years in jail, prosecutors said.

The council staff presented papers on the subject that stated a number of "disturbing" incidents of Trump's behaviour towards women during the 2016 election campaign. Anyone can make a nomination.
