During their interview, James and Lemon toured "I Promise", a school for at-risk children that James has established in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

"I would never sit across from him", he said.

Throughout the new interview, King James doesn't hold back on discussing his personal issues with Trump. James is not one to let something go quietly and neither is Trump.

Trump finished the tweet with "I like Mike!" an apparent reference to favoring National Basketball Association legend Michael Jordan in a comparison with James as perhaps the best National Basketball Association player ever.

Many tweeters suggested that Trump may have held out from criticising James until he moved away from OH, which is a crucial swing state for the President.

CNN anchor Don Lemon replied to Mr Trump's tweet, asking: "Who's the real dummy?" LeBron is originally from Akron and in the interview with Don, he talked about how important sports can be in a child's life and how he felt Donald was "using sports to kinda divide us". Trump is traveling to OH for a campaign rally on Saturday. I don't want my future kids growing up in a world where two Black men, accomplished in their field, are called dumb because they disagree with your views.

Lemon asked James if he would run for president in 2020 if there was no one else nominated who could beat Donald Trump. Trump, meanwhile, is headed to OH, as he is set to hold a "Make America Great Again" rally in Lewis Center, just north of Columbus, on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

James first said Mr. Trump is using sports to divide Americans at a press conference in September 2017, when Mr. Trump claimed he had disinvited Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, although the team had decided not to visit. James opted out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this offseason and signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I don't have to tell (asterisk) anyone (asterisk) what LeBron James means to Ohio", Democrat Danny O'Connor tweeted.
