As she gazes adoringly at her baby son, the mother's bond with her child is unmistakable.

Meghan Markle looked comfortable in her new role as auntie, as she stood next to Prince Harry. Noticeably absent from the special day was Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Charlotte took centre stage, smiling from ear-to-ear as her mum doted on newborn Louis.

Kate posed for a precious photo with her third child.

The first family snap shows the Cambridges, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall and the Middletons all posing happily at Clarence House in celebration of Louis' christening. The tots looked precious in their blue ensembles - hers a patterned dress with matching Mary-Jane shoes and a Pepa & Co. bow headband, his a white button-down shirt with blue piping and navy shorts by Amaia Kids paired with navy loafers.

This was not his first royal commission as he photographed the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as part of a series of portraits released to mark their 70th wedding anniversary. "The photographs were taken by Matt Holyoak at Clarence House, following Prince Louis's christening".

"Everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits, it was an absolute pleasure". I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs, ' Holyoak said in an official statement.

Photographer Matt Holyoak's picture shows Kate and her son in all their finery but also captures an intimacy rarely seen in royal portraiture.

The family was beaming as they celebrated their new member.

The house, built by John Nash in 1825- 27 for George III's third son, the Duke of Clarence, adjoins St James's Palace and was previously the Queen Mother's official residence for nearly five decades. The picture is a throwback to the christenings of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Her Majesty and Prince Philip did not miss the ceremony due to poor health, but mutually agreed with the Cambridge family "some time ago" that they would not attend, Buckingham Palace confirmed.
