According to the Miami Herald, spokesperson for Royal Caribbean said, "Our Care Team is providing support and assistance to the guests' family and friends". Tishman died overnight and Fanken was taken to a hospital in the United States for treatment.

According to Jim Walker, a lawyer who specializes in maritime litigation, this is not the first time a zip-line excursion in Roatan has resulted in injuries.
