Grab your squad and cruise the map in style! You'll still need to complete four weekly challenges to unlock the reward, but at least free players will have more benchmarks to set for themselves.

Fortnite's Season 5 Week 1 Challenges are now live and for anyone looking for help to solve the "Search floating Lightning Bolts" challenge, you've come to the right place.

The map has also been updated - as you may have expected - with a new desert biome and two new locations called Paradise Palms and Lazy Links being introduced, and players are encouraged to try jumping through "Rifts" that are still present on the map. This golf cart has room for up to four players (or a full squad), can get a speed boost after drifting, and has a roof that doubles as a bounce pad. It remains unclear how exactly this will work, but it's possible that players will be sucked into a Rift and be teleported to a different location.

In addition to these new features, "Fortnite" season 5 comes with a number of tweaks and fixes for the battle royale gameplay. Where storm circles would normally just shrink, Epic has decided that the seventh, eighth and ninth circles should move in random directions, giving campers a whole new headache to deal with. The Heavy Shotgun has received a change, too, as it will now fire 10 pellets instead of five.

The new season has also been preceded by Fortnite items, including Llamas and the Durr Burger sign appearing in real life locations around the world.

As exciting as Fortnite's fourth season was, with consumable comet fragments, a Thanos crossover event, and even a surprise rocket launch, the game's fifth season might be even bigger.

The pellet spread of shotguns is no longer random, but they now have an added delay after firing. To rectify this, players can earn XP for reviving their teammates in 50v50 and Teams of 20 matches.

Season 5 of Fortnite is finally here and the patch notes have already been released.
