Facing legal action from ex-business managers, ex-lawyers and ex-bodyguards and what could be an embarrassing trial later this summer, Johnny Depp has now been hit with an assault and battery lawsuit from the location manager of the upcoming City of Lies.
He claims Depp - starring as retired LAPD detective Russell Poole, who worked on both 1990s rap star murders - requested an extension of the permit so that he could direct two of his friends in an extended version of the scene the crew was filming that day.
During an April 2017 shoot in downtown Los Angeles, Brooks said he told Depp that he had only one shot left at completing a scene. Before Rocky reached the officer, he claims Depp attacked him and angrily screamed, "Who the f*** are you?" Rocky claims he told Johnny the same thing, but the actor didn't take kindly to the news.
A source told Page Six at the time that the out-of-control star was "six inches away" from Rocky's face, yelling, 'Who are you?
Depp is then said to have added: "I will give you $100,000 to punch me in the face right now".
According to the lawsuit - filed by Baker, Olson, LeCroy & Danielian - Rocky was concerned about Depp's volatility and went to get an LAPD officer for protection but was attacked before he could get help.
He is seeking unspecified damages, and Johnny Depp's rep has so far remained silent.
The lawsuit also claims that the crewmember was sacked when he refused to sign papers saying he wouldn't sue over the incident. When Brooks tried to explain to Depp that his job as location manager is to make sure the film's production adheres to city permits, Depp reportedly fired back, "I don't give a fuck who you are and you can't tell me what to do".
City Of Lies is due out on September 7.
The lawsuit is just the latest setback for Depp, whose financial woes have played out in the media amid multiple court cases.
