'Are you dead, sir?'

'Are you dead, sir?' 'Are you dead, sir?'

Ms Keegstra has since been placed on leave by the hospital while an investigation ensues, an El Camino hospital spokesperson said.

The doctor, who Bardwell reportedly waited four hours to see, begins to loudly tell the 20-year-old to "sit up" and is seen trying to push him upwards on the hospital bed.

"I'm sorry sir you are the least sick of all the people who are here, who are dying", Keegstra says. At one point, Samuel says he can't inhale, to which the doctor responds-amid chuckles, "He can't inhale. Wow!"

Speaking with Inside Edition, Bardwell was asked if he could sit up in that moment.

Video of the tense exchange between Dr. Beth Keegstra and patient Samuel Bardwell, 20, has been viewed more than 3.5 million times, drawing outrage from critics who demanded Keegstra's immediate firing. He must be dead.

Dr Beth Keegstra: 'Are you dead sir?'

Donald Bardwell protests, and Keegstra says his son's oxygen saturation levels are at 100 percent.

Mr Bardwell (right) and his father, Donald (left) were disappointed with the doctor's approach. His dad, Donald Bardwell, tells the San Francisco Chronicle that Samuel has a history of anxiety attacks and takes Klonopin, a benzodiazepine, to treat that, but that he'd been busy over the previous few days and hadn't had a chance to pick up his new prescription.

It ends with her accusing Samuel Bardwell of changing his story and using an expletive at him.

"So you need narcotics?" she asked.

The video was posted on Tuesday by Donald Bardwell.

A Northern California emergency room doctor was suspended for her alleged gruff bedside manner after she was caught on a viral cell phone video allegedly mocking, ridiculing and cursing a patient rushed to her Silicon Valley hospital suffering from an apparent severe anxiety attack.

"She never first came in and introduced herself", Bardwell recalled.

"You have changed your story every f**king time..."

The doctor could then be heard telling a nurse to give Bardwell IV fluids and send him home. It has sparked 21,000 comments.

Keegstra (pictured), who worked at El Camino since 2010, was not a staff worker but employed by Emeryville-based Vituity.

"This week, a patient who visited the emergency department at our Los Gatos campus had an interaction with a physician whose demeanor was unprofessional and not the standard we require of all who provide care through El Camino Hospital", the hospital said. Keegstra has been a practicing physician for 31 years. "The physician is a contracted provider and has been removed from our ER schedule".

The doctor no longer works at the ER and the hospital has apologized for the incident.

"We are saddened that a patient in our care was affected by this behavior and are working to ensure this never happens again", Vituity spokeswoman Allison Kundu said in an email to the publication. "In my mind, I don't think she should be practicing medicine at all".

The Bardwells have contacted a lawyer and is considering taking legal action against the hospital, ABC News reports.
