John Boyega gives ‘rude’ Star Wars fans a piece of his mind

But it also touched on an aspect of Star Wars fandom that's all too prevalent today: the toxic backlash that would've likely followed the Star Wars movie he wanted to create. When Disney acquired Lucasfilm with the intention of making a lot more Star Wars movies, Lucas opted out of having creative control over the films and chose to rather instead just take the many billions and not do much.

Obviously I could go on and on about everything that is fantastic in the Star Wars films, but one of the most striking things about them is the creativity involved in all the different alien characters, their societies, their characteristics, and how well they fit into the stories, and this is no exception.

The London-born actor, who appeared in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, told followers: "You're not entitled to politeness when your approach is rude". In terms of his storytelling, Lucas regarded individuals as "vehicles for the Whills to travel around in..." And the conduit is the midi-chlorians. "The Whills, in a general sense, they are the Force".

This sounds like the kind of detail that would be fascinating in some kind of epic novel series, but would it have been the right direction for the Star Wars universe? Giving the events trajectory of the Star Wars saga over to the Whills as something they control through midi-chlorians and the Force doesn't seem to add much significance to the proceedings.

Taking advantage of the uptake in traffic on his page, Boyega took the opportunity to let his fans know he's now filming another instalment, which is sure to excite the lot of you.

"All the way back to - with the Force and the Jedi and everything - the whole concept of how things happen was laid out completely from [the beginning] to the end". But I never got to finish.

"If I'd held onto the company I could've done it [seen the story through to its end], and then it would have been done". I've got to say that it's probably a good thing the films didn't get made then because based on fan hatred for The Phantom Menace's midichlorians, which tried to provide a scientific explanation for The Force, it appears people don't want to know the inner working of the Force and just want to see the Jedi do insane things.
